Split Privacy Policy

Split organizes shared expenses without advertising, tracking, or a 2tap account.

Data kept on your device

Split stores the groups and expenses you create locally, including participant names, avatars, items, amounts, currency, allocations, payments, settlement methods, dates, notes, and app preferences.

2tap does not operate a Split account system and does not automatically receive this content.

Camera, photos, and receipt recognition

Camera or photo-library access only occurs after your permission and for the image you choose. Split uses Apple Vision and a deterministic on-device parser to prepare receipt text and an initial draft.

On iOS 27 devices, when the feature eligibility preflight passes, starting a scan uses Apple Private Cloud Compute (PCC) as the primary route for one request. It may include the selected image, OCR text produced on the device, monetary-notation evidence, and compact deterministic draft context. PCC returns a proposal for Receipt Review.

PCC is an Apple service, not a server operated by 2tap. Apple states that request data is used only to fulfill the request, deleted after the response, and not retained by or made available to Apple. The request is initiated when you start the scan; the app does not show a separate PCC-specific authorization screen.

If PCC is ineligible, unavailable, over quota, over budget, or its one response fails, Split presents the draft already prepared by Apple Vision and the deterministic parser on the device. There is no request to a 2tap backend, second attempt with another remote model, or custom network fallback.

Receipt photos and raw OCR are not stored in Split history. Review the draft before confirming the information that will be added to the expense.

Data from earlier test versions

Split 2.0.1 does not offer iCloud bill synchronization or Shared Splits. Their screens, invitations and execution routes are disabled in this version.

The update preserves local records and experimental collaboration state, including references to shared bills, pending changes and synchronization markers. Earlier shared bills are hidden in the interface; the update does not erase them.

Data sent to iCloud by earlier versions is not automatically deleted by this update. Apple remains responsible for processing data held by its services under its terms and privacy policy.

Diagnostics

Split may keep aggregate metrics and technical logs on the device to diagnose receipt recognition. These records do not include receipt pixels, raw OCR, store or item names, or monetary values. The app does not send these diagnostics to a 2tap analytics service.

Optional feedback and support

Sending feedback is optional. Split has no custom form that sends votes, receipt photos, OCR, or diagnostic packages to a 2tap backend.

If you choose to submit feedback through TestFlight or a TestFlight screenshot, Apple receives the content you select and makes it available to the developer under the TestFlight rules. If you email support, 2tap receives only your email and the information you choose to include so it can respond. Avoid attaching receipts or other personal data unless necessary.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Split receives only the transaction and entitlement information provided through StoreKit on the device; 2tap does not receive your card number or complete payment details.

No ads or tracking

Split contains no advertising, does not use the advertising identifier, does not request tracking permission, and does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs. 2tap does not sell personal data.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete the content or the app. Updating to 2.0.1 does not erase retained experimental state or data sent to iCloud by earlier versions. Deleting the app does not automatically delete content held by Apple services.

Your rights and contact

You may request information, correction, or deletion of personal data controlled by 2tap, subject to applicable law. For privacy or support questions, email support@2tap.com.br.
